Frozen Peach Yogurt Cream

Isn't it funny where inspiration can come from? Like that really weird-o dream you had where there was this guy who could make things- anything, really- out of cheese, but they didn't last very long since, you know, cheese, was at war with this Jack Frost type character, actually made a halfway decent plot.

...

I said halfway.
Or you find these adorable little treat bowl thingies at your favorite discount store that have matching little spoons and immediately have to make ice cream to put in them. Except that there's no milk and you decide to use yogurt and canned peaches and heavy cream, and you can't decide if it's ice cream or frozen yogurt since there is in fact both iced cream and yogurt that has been frozen.

I don't know if I actually created something new here or if there's already a novel out there about the Cheese Man.

...Err, I mean a dessert that's a cross between ice cream and frozen yogurt. I just kind of threw things into the ice cream maker and hoped for the best, because I really wanted to use these little bowl thingies. They may look normal sized, but they're actually only about 3 inches tall. I used my cookie scoop to scoop out the ice... er... frozen... um... the peach stuff. So those scoops are only about a tablespoon each.

Oh, and while a few people suggested the name yogurt cream, fellow foodie blogger Jen from Juanita's Cocina was the first, so I credit her with coming up with it. (Thanks Jen!)

And yes, it was good. And super simple to make. Tiny ice cream bowls with your tiny matching spoons (squee!), you've done your jobs well. I thank you for the inspiration.
Frozen Peach Yogurt Cream {Printable Version}
Serves 8-10 people

Ingredients
1 (15.25 oz.) can peach chunks in syrup
¾ cup whipping cream
1 (6 oz.) container peach yogurt
2 tablespoons sugar*

Directions
Drain the peach chunks, reserving 2 tablespoons of syrup. In a blender, add the whipping cream, yogurt,
sugar, and reserved syrup. Run the blender on high until the mixture is well-blended, about 10 seconds.
Add the peach chunks, and pulse a few times until smooth. Pour into an ice cream maker and freeze
according to the manufacturer’s directions. Store in the freezer in an air-tight container.

*Depending on the brand of yogurt and peaches you use, this amount may need to be adjusted. Make sure to taste the cream before adding it to the ice cream maker.
